While in Congress, I have worked to ensure that the family and our common values are a top priority. A strong family unit is one that cannot be underestimated.

I authored the "Protecting Our Children Act" to protect our children from child predators by making improvements to the national sex offender registration program.

When I came to Congress, I took an oath to “support and defend” the Constitution. Today, that oath is being put to the test by our courts who believe the phrase “under god” doesn’t belong in the Constitution. This strikes at the core of our rights and liberties, and the courts, in this instance, have overstepped their boundaries. This is not only unsettling, but an abuse of judicial review. I have co-sponsored the "Pledge Protection Act" to guarantee that our federal courts do not overstep their role in this matter.
